Silver Lake appoints David Erb as Interim Director

The Board of Directors of Silver Lake Mennonite Camp is pleased to announce the
appointment of David Erb as Interim Executive Director.

Dave replaces Gwen Dell’Anno who has served the camp since September, 2006. Board
Chair Ruth-Ann Shantz commented: “We are grateful for the energy and effort Gwen has
given to Silver Lake and we wish her all the best.”

Dave was previously the managing partner of Erb & Good Family Funeral Home in
Waterloo, a business he and his father Jim transferred to employees in February, 2009. Dave
is active in his community, serving in leadership positions with several boards and local
organizations. He and Leanne are active members of Erb Street Mennonite Church in
Waterloo.

Dave has close to thirty years of history at Silver Lake, beginning as a camper from the age
of 6, and eventually becoming a CILT and staff member. Dave first met his wife Leanne
Baer at Silver Lake over 20 years ago, when both were campers. Leanne has recently
dedicated 3 summers at Silver Lake to serve as Head Cook. There are 3 additional members
of their family, children Cecilia (4yrs) and Oliver (1yr) and their dog, Harley (8yrs).

Silver Lake Mennonite Camp aims to provide an enjoyable setting where spiritual and personal growth are
fostered and Christian/Anabaptist values and teachings are emphasized. Community living, personal
discovery, outdoor skills and environmental caring are of primary focus.

Summer camp spaces are still available throughout the summer and additional information can be obtained
